About Ally
How Ally works
Hello!
I once had chronic lower back pain. I attended appointments with chiropractors, physiotherapists, Pain Specialists, rehabilitation consultants, occupational therapists, orthopaedic surgeons, and of course my doctor.
I attended all appointments, I did all the exercises and I was still in chronic pain. The pain made me cry sometimes, feel nauseous sometimes, it destroyed my sleep, and it limited my life to next to nothing, and I ended up unable to keep my job. I had hit the bottom ...
So as a result I had to look outside the options my doctor had presented me to heal and to get my life back!
If you are feeling the similar about your pain relief options being too narrow within what your doctor has offered, then we are on the same page.
I did not take the pain medication because I found when I did, I overdid it, and I hurt so much more the next few days, from one medication-induced pain-free chunk of time.
I do tell people to use pain medication, but to be very mindful, when you have painkillers dulling your pain, about just how much you do.
Your natural instinct when in pain is to STOP moving and HOLD your breath.
To recover from recurring or chronic pain my advice is always maintain steady, gentle movement without limping or compensating and Relax Breathe (inhale nose, exhale mouth). These two very simple methods tell your body it is okay, and the pain will subside after its first spike because of that message.
When you choose to work with me to heal your pain, we are healing your pain. During sessions I will mentally be flicking through different ways of interpreting your pain until your body responds that this interpretation is the one for you.
Sometimes pain is very physical, Part A is pressing on Part B when it is not meant to! Great we can release the muscles, the connective tissue, realign the bones and then build strength in weakened and contracted or overstretched muscles. That is one interpretation of our body and your pain.
I also use other interpretations that see the body as telling a story of your life up to the point of pain arriving. Think about when your pain first arrived, then think about what was happening in your life in the months preceding that physical pain. It's very common to find that there was life stress that preceded your physical pain. The body is expressing this stress in the only way that it can and that is physical pain. This is another interpretation of our body and your pain.
There are also other ways I interpret our body and our physical pain, which we can discuss in our sessions as it relates to you and your path and what will relieve it and finally heal you of painful episodes!
When we talk about the body and its functioning I will flip between metaphors to describe physical and emotion feelings and then into anatomical and physiological terminology.
Having worked with more than 10,000 people in my health career, our mind and our body are not two separate and distinct entities. When they both work together as an overlapping and integrated system there is harmony in both. When your mind and your body are disconnected then there is disharmony in both and pain created in the body.
Drawing on two decades of skills in Pain Relief Coaching, Osteopathic Craniosacral Therapy, Chinese Medicine Acupressure, and Energetic Medicine, I treat recurring and chronic pain and specialise in undiagnosable pain conditions, fibromyalgia, lower back pain, neck pain, jaw pain and anxiety.
Our body and mind are amazing entities and I know from many years of clinical experience that given the right interventions and attention in recovery, the body and mind can and will come back into balance.
As a dedicated professional my aim it is to see your health and happiness improve for the long-term and the first step starts with reducing your current pain.
I look forward to meeting and working with you to understand and dissolve your pain.
Ally, Pain Relief Lady
